Brief Description
Looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Paint Apprentice to join the busy automotive body shop team. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a career in the vehicle repair industry, learning how to prepare, paint, and finish cars and light commercial vehicles to a high standard.
Vacancy Detail
As a Paint Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced paint technicians while also completing structured training and coursework, leading to a recognised qualification in vehicle refinishing
Key Responsibilities
• Assist paint technicians with vehicle refinishing and refinishing preparation work
• Learn how to prepare damaged vehicles for paint application, including masking, sanding, and priming
• Support colour matching, paint mixing, and application processes
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling, and polishing to high standards
• Help with panel preparation and refinishing after body repairs
• Use spray equipment, tools, and workshop materials safely under supervision
• Carry out basic paint preparation tasks as your skills develop
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe paint workshop environment
• Follow all health & safety procedures and company standards
• Work as part of a team to meet deadlines and quality expectations
• Complete apprenticeship training, coursework, and practical assessments
• Develop professional workplace and customer service skills
Skills Required
• A genuine interest in vehicle painting, refinishing, and the automotive industry
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
• Good attention to detail and pride in your work
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English are desirable but not essential
