Brief Description
This apprenticeship is the Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician standard programme with Royal Mail at their depot in Chelmsford, CM2 5AA. The right candidate will work alongside Royal Mail’s qualified Technicians to receive extensive training in maintaining HGVs.
Vacancy Detail
Some 50,000 vehicles – including 6,000 HGVs & trailers – make Royal Mail's fleet one of the largest in the UK. To keep it efficient and effective, they rely on a team of vehicle technicians to handle everything from routine servicing to major component rebuilds and vehicle modifications all whilst keeping up with rapidly changing vehicle technology including electric vehicles.

Over three years, Royal Mail's Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Technicians learn through on-the-job training and classroom learning - They take individuals with a flair for mechanics and engineering, and turn them into automotive experts.
• Three-year programme, starting January 2024
• Starting salary of £17,272, rising each year of the programme
• Training undertaken throughout the programme at Remit's training academy in Derby (travel and accommodation included)
Once you have completed the programme you’ll have an opportunity to apply for a Vehicle Technician role within Royal Mail.
Three GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English and Science, at grade 4/C or higher required.
