Brief Description

Remit Training is currently recruiting on behalf of our client, Queensmead, which is an 11-18 co-educational academy that is forward-looking and dynamic.
We are helping them to find their latest addition to the School, which is an IT Support Apprentice.

Vacancy Detail

Location: Queensmead School, Ruislip
Qualification: Level 3 ICT - Support program
Salary: £5.00 p/h

The Apprentice can be expected to get involved with a variety of duties, the below is just a summary;

● Install and update operating systems on workstations and mobile devices, including Chromebooks, iPads, tablets, etc.
● Troubleshoot software issues
● Log software faults with external agencies and actively monitor them until their successful resolution
● Keep records of Software and Licences and update as necessary
● Assist with the development and updating of the intranet and school website
● Support Queensmead operating as a Google School in administration of the cloud-based application G-Suite. In addition, administration of the Adobe suite, Office 365, etc. may be required
● Assist in the specification of new equipment and obtain competitive quotations from suppliers
● Order, set up and security mark new equipment
● Keep an up to date inventory of IT Hardware and update as necessary
● Perform diagnosis procedures on PC’s and peripherals including Chromebooks, tablets, printers and smartboards, etc.
● Conduct general hardware maintenance, including necessary upgrades and simple repairs
● Create and delete users as required, assign permissions and troubleshoot user profile and settings issues
● Using the Google Admin console to manage and update users, email groups and Chrome devices
● Assist with start and end of year procedures such as updating online apps and services with new users’ details
• Take part in an annual performance review led by the ICT Network Manager and negotiate specific personal development goals, including training needs.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this apprenticeship you ideally will need to have achieved 5 GCSEs Grade 4/C or above (including Maths and English)
You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in IT or Technology due to Apprenticeship funding rules.

Future Prospects

As well as the chance to receive full on the job training throughout, by the end of the apprenticeship you’ll have gained nationally accredited qualifications as well as English & Maths Functional Skills Level 2.

The School aim to provide opportunities for further employment at the end of this training; subject to successful completion the course, objective and funding being available.
