What does a traineeship with BCA look like?

You will undertake 5 weeks of pre-employment training, including a recognised customer service qualification, allowing you to learn the skills you will need to give you the best chance of being successful with a full time career at BCA.

Following on from this you will then complete 3 weeks of work experience which will allow you to see the inner workings of British Car Auctions, get hands on work experience with the cars and showcase your passion. During the 3 week placement you will gain exposure to each of the following roles: Administrator, Imagery Operative, Polisher Fast Tracker, Yard Operative.

Purpose of the role:
Carry out basic vehicle storage, handling and movement operations in accordance with site and customer requirements. Ability to be able to walk to the next movement task, as dictated by the Hand Held scanner. When parking vehicles, ensure that the vehicle is compliant with relevant customer storage standards. Ability to be able to operate hand held scanners and interpret such information ensuring all data is accurate.

Role Accountabilities:
? Carrying out basic vehicle movement and handling
? Using HHT scanners to scan, locate and direct all vehicle movements (initial training will be provided)
? Carrying out basic vehicle checks as required and report findings to line manager
? Ensuring all vehicles are parked as per relevant customer standards
? Responsibility for your own safety and of those who work around you
? Checking all vehicles for damage before moving and reporting any damage found to line manager
? Reporting any major breaches of Health and Safety regulations
? Checking and controlling use of Company property, i.e. trade plates, scanner equipment, yard plant etc. and report any defects
? Carrying out other yard operation duties as requested by the yard chain of command
? Attending training courses as required on or off site

Apprenticeship wage - ?6.00 per hour
Non apprenticeship wage - to be discussed dependant on experience
