Vacancy Detail

Working with the ATL Head of Transport, ATL Transport Manager and ATL experienced Technicians to assist in the maintenance of a fleet of HGV / LGV vehicles and trailers. Responsible for assisting in inspecting, diagnosing faults / defects, testing, dismantling, overhauling, repairing and re-assembling engines, trailers, related equipment and components.

As an HGV/LGV Apprentice, your main responsibilities with include

1 Responsible for the maintenance and repair of fleet trailers
2 Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards
3 Diagnoses of vehicles utilising computer based diagnostic equipment
4 Carry out scheduled fleet maintenance tasks
5 Preparation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections
6 Carry out re-chassis work and light fabrication
7 Responsible for upkeep of scheduled maintenance records, including recording details of all work done and scheduling of servicing in compliance with Operator?s License requirements
8 Support, comply and ensure complicity with the company?s Quality Policy Document and its objectives of delivering a profitable and unrivalled quality service admired by competitors.
9 Willing to participate in relevant and appropriate training and assessments
10 Support, comply and ensure complicity by self and team with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, the company handbook, Quality standards and all other company policies and procedures.

Qualifications Required

Three GCSEs or equivalent at Grades 9 - 5 including English and Maths
Current full UK Driving License is an essential requirement
Working towards Heavy Vehicle Technician?s qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

Have a keen desire to work within a HGV Workshop environment
Prepared to develop an outstanding working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations and procedures surrounding the industry.
Can correctly use associated equipment to familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welders, grinders, air and hydraulic jacks.
