Remit Group are recruiting on the behalf of our client File Dynamics, who is actively looking for a technical, logical, and motivated individual to join them as a Software Development Technician Apprentice.

Vacancy Detail

The Apprentice who is successful in this position will have the opportunity to truly delve into the world of Programming and Coding with the chance to gain an industry-accredited qualification with full support and training towards the Software Development Technician Level 3 standard; along with additional training from PLURALSIGHT.
Reporting into the Senior work flow and senior test managers you will assist the agile sprint team in Developing and maintaining in-house software projects and solutions and taking pride in the end-to-end delivery and ongoing support of our products.

As part of the sprint team the role would
-focus on testing the software changes that have been made. This includes validating the data inputs and outputs both within the application and the database to verify accuracy.
-be picking up and adding to work items that construct a user story making use of process flows drawn in Visio.
-focus on support the rest of the team in testing the software that has been created both from a functional and non functional perspective. Ensuring that the requirements are met, along with security and compatibility concerns.
-have to continually solve issues with data either through presentation or manipulation as part of backend services or UI that needs a logical approach and skillset.
-be present in delivering business change requests to products and services so would be taking in the domain knowledge and understanding of the business to provide support in role.
-provide the candidate with expectation of self-management of time and priorities during multi-faceted projects.

Some of the time you will
-support the rest of the development team this role would need to create coded tests and CRUD apps which allow the user to populate test environments with bulk data sets. Additionally they would need to run development processes to test the technical security concerns of customer sites in a pen test internal security function.
-ensure that all software changes are securely developed. Ensuring that tests are run to validate that all OWASP top ten security issues aren?t present in any web applications. Considering the concepts of confidentiality, integrity and availability throughout the SDLC.
-ensure that industry and internal practices for branch management are considered. Whilst documentation of change control process maps or other diagrammatical information is kept up to date.
-will need to understand the teams internal coding and naming practices, including in database schema references to allow them to follow these and also to easily track down changes through the naming convention.
As part of the sprint team in documenting software changes the role would have to articulate the functions of the changes, this includes in handovers from testing the software to the support desk and end users as part of UAT process.

Qualifications Required

GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent qualification)

Personal Qualities

You will be a team player approachable and dedicated with a passion for all things IT.
You will be proactive and have a natural flair for wanting to learn with good knowledge of IT systems/software.

IT literate with ideally some HTML knowledge
