Hospitality Team Member

We are a family run cafe with the community at the heart of everything we do.

All of our food is made from scratch using locally sourced ingredients. You can find us on Facebook - The Waterloo Hive and the posts on there should give you a good feel for the cafe.

The role will comprise of both Front of House and Kitchen duties.

Kitchen Roles:
Health, Safety and Food Hygiene
Food preparation
Basic cooking leading on to more complex when you feel comfortable to do so

Front of House Roles:
Barista training
Customer service
Cash handling
Cleaning and tidying
Taking orders and generally adding to the friendly, relaxed atmosphere!

We are very family-centric and offer games and crafts for the kids who come in so it's very important you are happy around children and will make people feel welcome.

This opportunity includes 5 weeks of pre-employment training allowing you to learn the skills you will need to identify your future talent and unlock your potential within the workplace. Following on from this you will then complete 3 weeks of work experience to showcase your talents and what you have learnt from the course, get more familiar with the people in the company and the role, after which you will be ready to start your apprenticeship. During the 5 weeks of pre-employment training, you will be working towards a qualification in Customer Service along with improving your employability prospects, maths, English & digital skills, all of which are vital within any workplace and will help you feel well prepared for a possible apprenticeship.
