About FareShare:
FareShare is a national charity fighting food poverty by tackling food waste. We source food from food retailers and manufacturers which is surplus to requirements and engage many volunteers to help re-distribute this to local Community Food Members (CFMs), who provide meals to vulnerable people. FareShare Greater Manchester regional centre, based on New Smithfield Market, has been run by EMERGE 3Rs since 2008.

The role:
This role is vital to the work of FareShare Greater Manchester, providing crucial administrative support to the FareShare office and EMERGE volunteering department to keep them running smoothly. This role is perfect for someone who is looking to gain admin experience in a charity setting, build on their computer and data entry skills, and/or someone just wanting to help.

What will I be doing?
Data input including volunteer hours and training records
Preparing volunteer HR file checklists
Preparing id badges
Photocopying supplies of volunteer materials used for induction and training
Assisting with preparation of induction sessions

What can I expect from the placement?
Induction, training and support from experienced staff
Experience of working in an office environment

Knowledge of the importance and benefits of addressing food surplus and recycling

This opportunity includes 5 weeks of pre-employment training allowing you to learn the skills you will need to identify your future talent and unlock your potential within the workplace. Following on from this you will then complete 3 weeks of work experience to showcase your talents and what you have learnt from the course, get more familiar with the people in the company and the role, after which you will be offered a GUARANTEED INTERVIEW for a job role. During the 5 weeks of pre-employment training, you will be working towards a qualification in Customer Service along with improving your employability prospects, maths, English & digital skills, all of which are vital within any workplace and will help you feel well prepared for your work experience and the GUARANTEED INTERVIEW. Other Information

The 5-week pre-employment training will be delivered online/face to face in a group with other applicants. The hours for the training are Monday ? Friday 9:30AM to 4:00PM. The 3-week work experience may have varying hours depending on business demand. All information will be provided during your Induction on your first day.
