Remit Group are recruiting on the behalf of our client; JC Computer Technologies; who offer a full range of computer related services to their customers. Due to the teams expansion they are looking for a technically minded, driven and motivated individual to join them and assist in providing high quality and timely ICT technical support and training to their client; St Michaels VA Junior School based within Norwich.

The Apprentice who is successful in this position will have the opportunity to truly delve into the world of Technology, IT and Infrastructure Support with the chance to gain an industry accredited qualification with full support and training in the Infrastructure Technician Apprentice Level 3 standard; along with additional vendor qualifications in CompTIA A+ units.

Main Responsibilities;

Aim to provide technical support; answering support queries either via phone, emails or on-site.
Learn how to maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
Develop on how to take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues
Log all issues on the in house system.
Learn how to respond to enquiries from clients and help them resolve any hardware or software problems
Aim to maintain a log of any software or hardware problems detected.
Support other users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice
Learn how to allocate more complex service issues to the relevant IT Support members
Arrange for external technical support where problems cannot be resolved in-house

The Apprentice will also have to adhere to the following;

Be responsible for adhering to Health and Safety Legislations and Policies
Must also be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with any past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Qualifications Required

At least 5 GCSE's graded A - C or 9 - 4 - which includes English and Maths or having the Functional Skills equivalent

Skills Required

Having the following knowledge or experiences is beneficial but isn't overall necessary;

? Able to escalate IT Issues to the IT Manager where necessary
? Experience or base knowledge of diagnosing and resolving technical issues
? Passion for providing an excellent and high standard of customer service at all times.
? Knowledge of Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops
? Installing authorized software to laptops and desktops
? Able to ensuring security and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops and kept up to date
? Experience or knowledge with Antivirus installation to all desktops and laptops
? Fault finding to laptops and desktops
? Confidence in reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops and laptops

Future Prospects

As well as the chance to receive full on the job training throughout, by the end of the apprenticeship you?ll have gained nationally accredited qualifications as well as English & Maths Functional Skills Level 2.

The business aim to provide opportunities for further employment at the end of this training; subject to successful completing the course and showcasing the right skills and attributes throughout.

Other Information

The Apprentice must be aware that this post will require them to work term times in conjunction with the School

The Apprentice will have a workplace mentor who will visit a couple of times a week, but the majority of the work will be done independently
