Are you a logical thinker looking to solve problems? Enjoy working with technology? Remit Group are recruiting on the behalf of Barnes IT; they are looking for a Support Technician to join them as an Apprentice!

Vacancy Detail

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technical and logically minded individual to join a role where the main purpose will be to provide first line helpdesk support to clients; assisting them with hardware and software problems.

In addition to this the successful Apprentice will have the chance to be mentored, learn and develop skills to achieve a Level 3 in the IT Solutions Technician qualification.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Assist and provide 1st Line Technical Support; answering queries via phone, email and in person
- Support users remotely when required
- Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
- Take ownership of users problems and be pro-active when dealing with user issues
- Log all calls on the logging system and keep all call logs up to date
- Escalate more complex issues and calls to the relevant IT Support member
- Carry out daily client system checks, reporting any changes etc. to the Office Manager
- Produce monthly reports on client systems
- Update client configuration files
- Configure hardware as required

Additional Duties

- Attend client sites when necessary
- Assist other staff
- Help with the purchase of client equipment
- Carry out general office duties; filing, photocopying, answering the phone etc.

Qualifications Required

GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent qualification)

? Ability to deal with staff and clients in a courteous, professional and effective manner
? An appreciation of the need for confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information

Skills Required

? Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems
? Basic understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
? ?Hands on? approach and a willingness to learn
? Willingness to research issues and fixes
? Flexible and pro-active approach

Future Prospects

If the successful Apprentice showcases the right attributes and skills then the company are open to the possibility of taking the successful candidate on a permanent basis following the completion of the apprenticeship.
