Remit Group are recruiting on the behalf of our esteemed client; UNEP a non-profit organisation devoted to promoting the conservation and protection of Nature. They're on the lookout for a motivated and technically minded individual to join their team!

Vacancy Detail

This is a brilliant opportunity for a computer literature individual to get their foot in the door of a Business who at their core are building web applications to help save the planet! They have been looking to expand their team as a response to the large demand for digital expertise within the conservation industry.

The successful Apprentice will join a close-knit team of passionate developers, UX/UI Designers and Product Managers putting their skills towards a mission to tackle the massive loss of bio-diversity and habitat destruction. Right from the get-go the Apprentice will be given the chance to ensure that the companies IT Infrastructure runs and operates smoothly whilst being given excellent training and all the support needed to achieve the industry accredited Level 3 qualification.

Their varied IT Infrastructure and supported learning culture provides opportunities for the Apprentice to grow upwards or sideways within the organisation; meaning the Apprentice will progress in the area of work that suits them and the company best!

Main Roles & Key Areas of Responsibility;

? Supporting the Senior Team with the installation and configuring of hardware and software components to ensure usability.
? Have the chance to troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and by phone
? Learn how to properly install and upgrade anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
? Assist within the team by providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
? Learning how to correctly conduct daily backup operations.
? Become able to self-mange technical documentation.
? Work towards maintaining hardware and software asset registers
? Be keen to solve difficult technical challenges with creative solutions
? Learn and maintain the monitoring and alerting of all in-house systems
? Escalate IT issues within the team where necessary, working closely with the Centre?s Senior DevOps and IT Support contractors.
? Assist with the IT Procurement process by raising purchase orders, placing approved orders and checking goods received match the orders placed.

Qualifications Required

You'll need to have a minimum 5 GCSE's, grade A-C/8-4 or the Functional Skills Level 2 equivalent including English, Maths and ICT.

Have a understanding or basic theoretical knowledge on IT - including either Support, Networking, Hardware, Software and Troubleshooting
Possess a strong knowledge or understanding of MS Office & Windows / Linux Systems - with an emphasis on Windows (e.g. Windows 7, Windows 10)
Excellent telephone manner and face to face communication skills
If you have any experience with using and/or troubleshooting Outlook then this is a considerable bonus for our client

Future Prospects

Full time position available to the successful candidate that fully completes the Level 3 infrastructure technician qualification and demonstrates the right attributes.
