Vacancy Detail

This is an exciting and forward thinking opportunity to join a team currently operating from modern offices within the Oxfordshire area. This Apprenticeship role is readily available to someone who aspires to have a future career in the IT sector; dealing with Hardware and Infrastructure Support, where on the job training will be provided throughout.

You'll have plenty of chances to learn and develop your skills through practical experience, supplemented by completing technical qualifications as part of the apprentice scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic IT-oriented individual to develop their skills within a fast-paced and exciting environment. The successful Apprentice will have the chance to learn all about the different aspects of working within 1st Line Support as part of a Help Desk; with everything from troubleshooting, installation, monitoring and supporting.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

? Support by answering the telephone and logging calls into the companies help desk application; whilst entering detailed information as to what the problem is and what actions have been taken so far to rectify.
? Learn how to attempt a first time fix; working with the user and the surrounding team to try to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
? Support by calling the user back at agreed timescales to ensure they are kept updated of the situation and understand what the next steps are and when they will happen.
? Have a calm and assured personality when working under pressure and to tight deadlines, is very well presented and has very good communication skills.
? Learn how to check and monitor client backups and to raise any faults / issues with 3rd party support and other colleagues
? Support by performing ad hoc requests as and when required

INDIT

Qualifications Required

Hold a GCSE Grade A*-C/9-4 in both maths and English or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualifications.

Personal Qualities

Be an enthusiastic, motivated and polite individual
Able to work well within a team and on own to complete set tasks
Have an interest in wanting to learn and help others
Be able to apply previous knowledge to different scenarios when problem solving
Be friendly and being able to have a good telephone manner is a must

Skills Required

Previous experience or interest in the IT sector, whether self-taught, through education or volunteering
Have the desire to learn and the ability to communicate well to colleagues and clients.
Excellent customer service skills are essential within this environment
Be well organised and have the passion to deliver first class IT support.

Future Prospects

As well as the chance to receive full on the job training throughout, by the end of the Apprenticeship you?ll have gained nationally accredited qualifications as well as English & maths Functional Skills Level 2.

The business are also offering a full, long term position of employment with them upon successful completion of the Level 3.
