Remit are looking on behalf of our client Hero Health for a Software Development Apprentice

Vacancy Detail

As a Software Developer Apprentice at Hero Health, you?ll work on an agile team with other passionate, driven and talented young people. You will create innovative features for the Businesses products in an environment that fosters growth.

The successful Apprentice will be presented with an opportunity to take responsibility for their own work whilst being taught how to hone a wide range of skills in development and problem-solving.

A typical day:

An opportunity to design, develop and unit test applications in accordance with established standards
Get involved and participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code
Aim to adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time
Work alongside and with departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance
Help by liaising with other departments on product status? and proposals

INDIT

Qualifications Required

Five GCSE grades C - A* (4-9) or equivalent, including English and Maths

Personal Qualities

-Very good understanding of IT
-A quick learner of new introduced technologies
-An overall team player
-Self-motivated and independent
-A desire to learn

Skills Required

Some prior experience with coding; ideally either:
-Ruby on Rails
-JavaScript
-SQL

Future Prospects

There is the potential to become permanent upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Other Information

The successful candidate will learn:
-Various coding languages
-Version control practices using Git with Github
-Development pipelines using services such as Heroku and Travis CI
-The principles of test-driven development
-Working as part of an agile team
-Collaboration with design and sales teams
