Brief Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of Nationwide Platforms - Specialist Vehicles Division for a Heavy Vehicle Engineer to join their team at their depot in Luton.

This is made possible by our team of Engineers, who maintain, repair and safety check the UK?s largest fleet of Powered Access Machines.

As an Apprentice Service Engineer, your key responsibilities will be the following:
? Servicing ? working to guidelines to ensure a vehicle is running at optimum performance.
? Maintenance ? replacing parts that have wear and tear before they fail.
? Repair ? diagnosing the reason for vehicle failure and fixing the problem.

The techniques and daily responsibilities you will learn will include:
? Using diagnostic, mechanical and electrical measuring equipment to investigate vehicle faults and identify their underlying causes.
? Inspecting and preparing customers vehicles ready for mechanical work.
? Removing, repairing or replacing components to the correct specification.
? Be an ambassador for and ensure compliance of Quality, Health & Safety standards and policies
? Act as an ambassador for the company, providing a high standard of customer care and being polite always. Relay appropriate customer queries to depot staff as required.
? Accurately complete all relevant paperwork including engineer?s report, post/pre hire inspection and service sheets
? Provide general depot maintenance where required

Qualifications Required

The entry requirements for this apprenticeship scheme are a minimum of 4/C grade or equivalent in GCSE in English and Maths.

Other Information

You will receive a salary based on the National Minimum Wage for your age, 25 days Holiday, Westfield Health Cash Plan, Lifestyle Access (discount on selected high street stores) and auto enrolment pension scheme.
As part of the selection process you will be invited to an assessment centre at the Luton depot on 07/11/2019. This assessment centre will be for half a day starting at 10.30am.
