Brief Description

Remit Group are currently looking for a IT Support Apprentice; with our client Gartree High School. They're seeking a technically literate, team player to join their proactive IT Department

Vacancy Detail

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a tight knit and fun team; where you'll be tasked with providing essential IT Support across the entirety of the school for both Gartree's staff and students. It's a great chance to gain experience and an Industry accredited Level 3 qualification within the IT Industry.

As an Apprentice, your role will be varied but you're main key responsibilities will include:

Assisting and liaising with the Network Manager, who will help support and mentor throughout the course
Attempt to actively support the overall IT vision and strategy of the school
Work closely with teaching and support staff to specify users requirements
Develop and help realize the full benefits of ICT systems to the school
Learn, and help maintain and repair the ICT hardware of the school information system, liaising with off-site technical support when necessary.
Help and offer technical support to assist staff in order to provide the appropriate software and software systems
Learn how to promote the use and understanding of ICT within the school, with staff, children and parents
Develop and support in training staff in the use of ICT to assist with teaching and learning. You'll also be required to support pupils in accessing information for their learning needs.
Help to support the school community with access to school systems through logins and passwords.
You'll also be required to work with initiative and flexibility; as Evening Events will need to be supported

INDIT

Qualifications Required

To be considered, you must have at least 5 GCSEs graded A/C or 8/4 or above, including English and Maths or the Functional Skills/Key Skills equivalents.
Candidate must be able to travel to work on time, so having a reliable use of transport is beneficial

Personal Qualities

You will need the ability to get on with people of all ages as you will be supporting staff and pupils
Demonstrable ability to work under pressure as you will be working in a busy environment
Be quite outgoing in order to work within such a large team
Possess good overall problem solving and good interpersonal skills.

Skills Required

You will need some basic technical knowledge and the enthusiasm to learn lots more
Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential
A professional manner is required at all times
The demonstrable ability to work under pressure
Very good understanding of IT
A quick learner of new introduced technologies

Future Prospects

As well as the chance to receive full on the job training throughout, by the end of the apprenticeship you?ll have gained nationally accredited qualifications as well as English & maths Functional Skills Level 2.

Future employment for a successful apprentice if a suitable position is available within the organisation after completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship.
