Remit Group are recruiting on the behalf of Aperture Group, the UK's leading supplier of high quality products to the fenestration industry. Their team at Huthwaite are eager for an IT Helpdesk Technician to come and join them within the Department.

Whilst working towards an Industry accredited Level 3 in the Infrastructure Technician Standard the successful Apprentice will have the chance to get involved with different departments in a role that blends many aspects of IT Support. The below Job Description doesn't describe the full duties so candidates will need to be adaptable to suit other needs of the business where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Help to maintain and operate the IT Help-Desk System and learn how to provide First Line Support and troubleshoot users issues with IT Systems.
Serve as contact for users to obtain clarification of problems and to help identify solutions or corrective actions
Assist with the maintenance of the networks physical and logical structures including all network connections; including the maintenance of the network support software
Learn to install and test network hardware and software, help to perform routine maintenance and apply vendor updates to any software.
Perform routine backups are learn about the archival of files stored on the network and recommend appropriate measures.
Assist with maintaining the local area networks and/or wide area network, cable and switch installations, inventories and other related duties.

Additionally, the Apprentice may be tasked with:

Helping to create user logins, profiles and other essential systems maintenance tasks
Assist with the monitoring of systems for stability and performance, including making modifications as necessary to ensure the optimal running of IT System
Learn, create and deploy systems and application software packages to ensure ease of use and rapidity of deployment
Act as an agent for change by suggesting methods an procedures for improving existing IT and Business practices.

Qualifications Required

To be considered, you must have at least 5 GCSEs graded A*-C/9-4 or above, including English and maths or the equivalents.

? Able to complete tasks on time and within established parameters
? Able to use discretion and judgment in confidential matters
? Ability to work in a professional, respectful manner with those who are content experts, but not technical experts

Skills Required

Having a good all-round knowledge of the following is beneficial:

? Networking (including DNS, TCP/IP,routing,Cat5e installation and network
? switching and routing)
? PC architecture, including trouble shooting hardware problems
? Microsoft Windows 7 & 10
? Network printers, preferably xerox
? An active interest in Linux builds
? Ability to effectively troubleshoot problems with user?s systems
? Ability to learn new operating systems or application software packages, infrastructure hardware and techniques

Future Prospects

As well as the chance to receive full on the job training throughout, by the end of the apprenticeship you?ll have gained nationally accredited qualifications as well as English & maths Functional Skills Level 2.

Future employment for a successful apprentice if a suitable position is available within the organisation after completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship.
