Brief Description : Remit are recruiting on behalf of The Fox Inn, Steventon for an enthusiastic person to join their small team front of house. You will undertake an Hospitality Apprenticeship, leading to a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.
Qualifications Required : GCSE English and Maths Grades A - C (4 - 9) preferred but others will be considered
Vacancy Detail : The Fox Inn, near to Abingdon is a gastro pub and they are looking to develop their business with the inclusion of an apprentice. You will be working front of house in the restaurant, where your duties will include:
- meeting and greeting customers
- offering them menus and giving advice on any specials or dietary considerations
- serving food and drinks
- clearing and setting tables, ensuring high levels of hygiene
You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service at all times.
This role is a great insight into the hospitality industry and could pave the way to taking on a supervisor or manager role in time.
Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 40 hrs pw; 5 days out of 7 rota - 11am - 3pm or 4pm - 9pm
Salary : £200.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : An interest in the hospitality sector and commitment to the apprenticeship programme - 13 months. Willingness to work anti- social hours - evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
Skills Required : Great customer service skills; punctual, honest; a good standard of literacy and numeracy; ability to use technology e.g. tablet, smartphone

Training to be Provided : Depending on your role within the department, you may specialise in a particular area, but the skills you learn on this apprenticeship will allow you to work across all different areas which you may be required to support during busy periods. You will develop your knowledge of the industry and gain the skills that will ensure your customers feel well looked after and have a great experience. You will have excellent communication skills and will learn techniques on how to deal with a variety of people in a professional, polite and friendly manner. Following completion of this apprenticeship there may be opportunities for career progression and further study at a higher level. As a result, you will receive the following qualification: Functional Skills in English & maths Level 1 and upskill to Level 2
Other Information : Along with providing great food and drinks, the Fox Inn also has a 6 rooms on site offering bed and breakfast; they have a full range of events throughout the year
Things to consider : This will be a busy role, particularly on weekends and you should expect to work hard and be on your feet all the time. The pub is getting great reviews.
