Remit Group are recruiting on the behalf of ph9, a team of hardworking, creative, technical and people focused individuals. Their team is expanding so are on the lookout for a talent web genius with boatloads of enthusiasm to join their Derby Offices

Vacancy Detail

ph9 are a Web Design company in the heart of Derby City Center. They provide ready-made websites, which are customized for each client and they provide each client training on how to use their website and keep it up to date. As a Web Development Apprentice, you'll be helping ph9 achieve this!

They're clients are mainly small businesses with 1-5 employees and whom are largely based in the Antique, Vintage & War collectibles sector. They have a really down to earth working environment and as a company one of their core values is "Happiness" so everything that ph9 does, revolves around achieving that for not only their clients, but also their colleagues.

Job Roles:

Have the chance to learn about the whole industry; from design & front end development, to back end and dev-ops
Help and learn how to build brand new websites
Learn and develop on your technical support, to offer up to date and a consistent service
You'll be creating new features in their website platform
Work alongside ph9's Server Management, aka the dev-ops of their AWS (Amazon Web Services) platform
You'll have the chance to gain knowledge and be taught by an experienced web develop with 18 years experience
Gain a lot of real world and practical experience, with a great training programme and full support.

Qualifications Required

To be considered, you must have at least 5 GCSEs graded A/C or 8/4 or above, including English and maths or the Functional Skills/Key Skills equivalents.

Personal Qualities

The ideal person for ph9 should:

Live and breathe the web
Already have started to learn about web development in your spare time, or have already built some websites
Be an enthusiastic, pro-active and intelligent individual.
Demonstrate the ability to be organized and have a passion for learning.

Skills Required

You will be constantly learning, but having the following should be beneficial:

An understanding or ability to use coding languages such as:
PHP 7, HTML 5, CSS 3, Bootstrap, JavaScript and JQuery
A knowledge or experience with:
Font Awesome, Object Oriented Programming (OOP) or GitHubs and DeployHQ
If your also able to use dev-ops; including nginx, ubuntu, bash scripting, cron jobs and more
Demonstrable ability to use Sketch and Adobe Products

Future Prospects

As well as the chance to receive full on the job training throughout, by the end of the apprenticeship you?ll have gained nationally accredited qualifications as well as English & maths Functional Skills Level 2.
The company are also offering a full, long term position of employment with them upon successful completion of the Level 3.
