Brief Description : Remit are recruiting on behalf of Clayton Park Bakery in Huncoat BB5 6NT, near Accrington for bakery apprentices to join their team. The Bakery Department is central to the business and creates and manufactures a wide range of high qualify products.
Qualifications Required : GCSE Grades A - C preferred
Vacancy Detail : You will play an integral part in preparing a range of baked goods, including bread, cakes and pastries.
Typically tasks will include:
- preparing and mixing ingredients
- baking cakes and bread
You will be using industrial machinery in line with food and health and safety requirements.
Positions Available : 4
Working Week : 38 hours; shift pattern working 5 days out of 7 including weekends and bank holidays. 6am to 3pm
Salary : £173.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : The Baker apprenticeship is an integrated programme of knowledge and skills acquisition, developed alongside core behaviours expected of a competent baker operating in a commercial setting.
You'll learn how to produce and bake products including bread, cakes, pastry and enriched doughs using machinery as well as having the opportunity to produce bread by hand. Alongside this you will learn how to use a range of machinery and equipment in line with safety and hygiene standards and the handling and storage of ingredients and finished products.
The apprenticeship will be delivered via a series of theory based workshops as well as hands on learning and will take 18 months to complete.
The apprenticeship programme includes functional skills.
At the end of the programme you will obtain
- Baker Level 2 qualification
- Functional Skills Level 1, working towards a Level 2.
Other Information : This role will involve shift work, which will include weekends and bank holidays.
