Brief Description

Remit Training are recruiting on behalf of The Great Western Corsham (part of the Star Pubs & Bars Group) for an apprentice chef to join the team at this local pub and restaurant.

Vacancy Detail

As part of the team you will assist the chef in:
- preparing food to the highest standards including the safe and proper use of kitchen equipment
- assisting with service where required
- maintaining health and safety requirements at all times
- assisting with and monitoring stock control
- receiving deliveries and maintaining stock in a diligent and hygienic manner

Qualifications Required

GCSE Grades A - C preferred

Personal Qualities

Passionate in cooking and wanting a career in the hospitality industry
Ability to focus attention to detail
High standard of personal presentation
Confident and courteous in dealings with customers and other staff
Hardworking, committed and willing to learn and develop
Flexible in approach to business needs (tasks, hours and responsibilities)

Skills Required

Ability to work unsupervised in the Head Chef's absence after training
Willingness to contribute towards the development of new menu ideas
A flair for cooking and presentation of food to the highest standard.

Other Information

Chef's whites will be provided, however laundering will be individual responsibility
The use of mobile phones at work is restricted to breaks except in an emergency
Please note this is shift work on a rota system including weekends and Bank Holidays.
Wage is NMW - ?8.21 - ?4.35 PH
