Remit Group are recruiting on behalf of Smokey Barrels, who have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice chef, responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food to deliver an excellent guest experience.

The restaurant has had a complete overhaul and refurbishment and is now the perfect setting for their expert chefs to bring together the finest ingredients from Birmingham and beyond. This fantastic opportunity has arisen to for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the team to undertake valuable practical experience whilst working towards achieving a level 2 qualification as a Hospitality Team Member.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Apprentice Chef, you are responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food to deliver an excellent guest experience. An Apprentice Chef will also be required to undertake all reasonable duties as assigned by the Head Chef. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
? Contribute to high levels of customer service
? Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food to the highest standard
? Be willing to learn all sections within our kitchen
? Comply with and have full knowledge of regulations regarding Food Safety ( training provided)
? Undertake any reasonable duties that may be assigned by the Head chef

THE CANDIDATE
Must have a flexible approach to working hours and be prepared to work on various shift patterns including weekends.
Smokey Barrels provides classic American style grill food using an in-house smoker but also offer pan Asian cuisine, so the candidate will learn and rotate within both sections and gain knowledge and experience of two very different cooking styles.

Ideal candidate would be someone who has a passion for food and a flair for presentation and most importantly have a strong wiliness to learn how to prepare food using fresh and raw ingredients. Must have great communication skills, be punctual and be able to work as a team.
