Qualifications Required : A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades C/4 and above (or equivalent) including maths, English and ICT.
Vacancy Detail : Our role is to work in the IT Support team to assist the staff and students across the Academy Trust providing a professional, customer focused service and support.

Based on the front desk you will work with the IT helpdesk system to report issues, undertake general admin tasks. Covering a wide variety of IT areas from local and remote user issues, networking and cloud service queries.

Your role will be to work with the others in the team to support the staff and students in the everyday use of IT equipment.

Duties would include:

Providing 1st line support to customers
Solving projector and interactive whiteboard issues
Administrative support, including filing, word processing and reprographics work and data input.
To liaise with students, families and staff on behalf of CMAT
Setting up new machines and swapping faulty laptops
Editing user accounts
To assist the arrangement of routine in-school activities such as staff school photographs, student induction and presentation evenings
Installing and configuring software
Installing computers in new IT suites
Configuring network devices
Responding to urgent IT issues around the site
Ensuring that systems and software are implemented in line with the Trust’s IT policy

Personal Qualities : The successful candidate will be technically minded, a problem solver and be able to work independently as well as within a team. They will need to have a firm grasp of the English language.

Training to be Provided : The Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship will enable you to gain the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours to provide first or second line support to internal and external customers and stakeholders to help them be productive when using technology. By the end of the programme, you will be able to set people up on their IT systems and provide support when needed, rectifying issues to maintain colleagues’ and the organisation’s productivity. Job roles include helpdesk technician, first or second line IT support roles or Network support roles. As a result, you will receive the following qualification: Infrastructure Technician (Standard) Level 3 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)MTA Network Fundamentals/CompTIA A+/ CompTIA Network+ professional qualification (Choose one option)
Other Information : The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a new environment with enterprise level equipment.

They will be able to take on further responsibilities as they become more experienced and qualified across the Trust.

If the successful candidate performs well and develops to a satisfactory standard during this time, the contract may be extended or made permanent.
Things to consider : This post is based in a school environment, therefore list 99 and enhanced CRB checks will need to be carried out before you will be able to start at work.

The National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.70 an hour from the 1st of April 2018. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24, and £7.83 for those over 25. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
