Qualifications Required : A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades C/4 and above (or equivalent) including maths, English and ICT.
Vacancy Detail : Remit are currently recruiting on behalf of Sawtry Community College, Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust. The college is organised into four 'Houses', each of which comprise of around 250 students, 12 tutor groups and 30 staff. Houses are responsible for monitoring and ensuring the welfare and progress of the students; each House has a distinct identity but applies common structures and systems.
Vacancy description
The role is to work within the IT Support team to assist the staff and students across the Academy Trust providing a professional, customer focused service and support in everyday use of IT equipment. You will be based on their front desk and work with the IT helpdesk system to report issues, undertake general admin tasks. Covering a wide variety of IT areas from local and remote user issues, networking and cloud service queries.
Duties would include:
• Providing 1st line support to customers
• Solving projector and interactive whiteboard issues
• Administrative support, including filing, word processing and reprographics work and data input
• To liaise with students, families and staff on behalf of CMAT
• Setting up new machines and swapping faulty laptops
• Editing user accounts
• To assist the arrangement of routine in-school activities such as staff school photographs, student induction and presentation evenings
• Installing and configuring software
• Installing computers in new IT suites
• Configuring network devices
• Responding to urgent IT issues around the site
• Ensuring that systems and software are implemented in line with the Trust’s IT policy

Personal Qualities : The successful candidate will be technically minded, a problem solver and be able to work independently as well as within a team. They will need to have a firm grasp of the English language.

Training to be Provided : The Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship will enable you to gain the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours to provide first or second line support to internal and external customers and stakeholders to help them be productive when using technology. By the end of the programme, you will be able to set people up on their IT systems and provide support when needed, rectifying issues to maintain colleagues’ and the organisation’s productivity. Job roles include helpdesk technician, first or second line IT support roles or Network support roles. As a result, you will receive the following qualification: Infrastructure Technician (Standard) Level 3 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)MTA Network Fundamentals/CompTIA A+/ CompTIA Network+ professional qualification (Choose one option)
Other Information : The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a new environment with enterprise level equipment.

They will be able to take on further responsibilities as they become more experienced and qualified across the Trust.

If the successful candidate performs well and develops to a satisfactory standard during this time, the contract may be extended or made permanent with the organisation.
