Brief Description

You'll be working as part of the IT Team and reporting to the Network and IT Systems Manager. The IT Technical Assistant will provide first line support to all staff, teachers, students and visitors supporting both Windows PC?s/laptops and Apple machines.

Vacancy Detail

As the successful Apprentice, your roles and duties include, but are not limited to the following;

Provide hardware/software support for workstations, PC's, Laptops, Printers, Tablets and Mobile Devices.
Build/Rebuild and provision desktop and laptop computers as needed and maintain the Asset register
Maintain and troubleshoot iMac, iPad and other Apple products
Support and promote the use of Coperate policies, including Acceptable use and E-Safety
Installation and Support of approved software including Corporate Applications
The support and maintenance of CCTV, telephony and printing systems
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting od wired and wireless entworks
Install approved software and maintain the IT inventory
Maintain anti-virus software on client devices
Provide technical advice, research and procure products as required
Advise the Network and IT Systems Manager on any technical issues
Creation/Removal of student and staff computer accounts and managed the correct Office 365 licenses
Set up computer rooms for examinations
Working with the Network and IT Systems Manager in the rollout of IT Project work.

Qualifications Required

5 GCSE's with C/4 Grades (or equivalent) in English, Maths and ICT

Skills Required

Experience with Enterprise level hardware (PCs, Macs, printers, webcams, routers, switches, cabling).
Experience of Microsoft Operating systems (Windows 7/10) in a networked corporate environment.
Familiar with common off the shelf commercial software (Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat).
Experience with Windows 2008/2012 server administration.
Experience of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTFS Permissions and Group Policies.
Knowledge of current IT legislation and licensing requirements
Demonstrate a methodical and organized approach to data security.
Hands-on experience of VLANs and IP Routing.
To have a good understanding of a VLE environment.
Experience of Apple MacOS in a networked corporate environment.
Apple Server Administration.

This post is across all Kings Oxford sites, with the aim to be 3 days at St Joseph?s Hall and 2 days at our City Centre Sites.
Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
