Brief Description : This apprenticeship covers the movement and storage of goods, and is an essential part of logistics operations.

 

Vacancy Detail : As a warehouse operative, you will be trained to carry out tasks including order picking, goods inwards, goods outwards and general warehousing duties.

Main responsibilities and duties include:

Managing stock and picking items
Accurately check all incoming stock for shortages and damage and to ensure all procedures are followed to recover the cost to the branch for shortages and damaged stock
Learning the operational aspects of the warehouse
Ensure delivered stock is safely stored before warehousing
Ensure compliance to safe manual handling techniques when handling stock and seek assistance where loads are considered too heavy to handle
You will be expected to be able to safely lift an average of 15kg but up to 17.5kg at any time
To respond to any request from branch operations with the specified time
To carry out any reasonable request as directed form the Branch Manager
Positions Available : 10
Working Week : 5 Days P/W on a rota basis. 37 hours p/w total.
Salary : £203.50 Per Week

There are no desired qualifications but you will need to complete a series of online assessments in advance of an interview being offered.

The assessments will be in English and Maths.
Future Prospects : The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to progress on to Level 3 on successful completion of level 2.
Training to be Provided : At the end of the course you will gain an NVQ/VCQ level 2
A Remit assessor will visit every 4 to 6 weeks to complete assessment testing with you and deliver the theory part of this apprenticeship
The rest of the time will be spent in a place of employment where you will get to learn practical skills from seeing the real working environment
Once you pass your assessments and process through your course you will be able to start completing tasks on your own
Training is delivered to suit the needs of every apprentice and their employer, where possible, and includes:

Dedicated time with a fully qualified assessor
E-learning
Self-study
